The centrifuge can handle maximum particle size of 500micron at the input. The centrifuge nozzles are .045inches/ 1.15 mm. However, for the safety of the pump,it is best if a suction filter of 100 micron is used.Model OC-20

Supplied Universal mounting plate is 3” wide x 4” long with a flange mount with two ½ holes and a 1” NPT female coupling for affixing the return line.
Rotor holding capacity: 10.5 oz of contamination.The flow is the key. The centrifuge can only handle 55 GPH. You need a pump that will give you 90 PSI at 0.93 GPM / 55 GPH for ultimate performance. The minimum operating pressure is 35 PSI. The viscosity also enters into the equation, the thinner the better so heating the fuel to 140+ will also increase performance. Straight room temp vegetable oil may take some experimenting with.
At 90 PSI and above the rotor speed is more than 8000 rpm and the rotor will produce noise and vibrations at that speed. There is no harm caused by this noise.
A pump with more flow and less PSI will also be an issue. Too much flow will require a bypass. The excess flow that is not used by the centrifuge will cause the pump motor to over heat.

Click the image to enlargeThe Dieselcraft “Cyclone” Series Oil Centrifuge is a permanent, reusable by-pass oil filtration system for diesel engines. Used in addition to a full flow filter, it keeps oil cleaner longer, reduces filter changes and extends oil life.
The centrifuge cleans oil by generating a centrifugal force 2,000 times greater than gravity. Engine oil pressure spins the rotor at a rate over 6,000 rpm’s, separating the solid contaminants from the main oil supply and spinning them to an outer bowl, which is easily cleaned. Holds over 10 ounces of contamination.
Contaminant particles as small as 1/10th of one micron are removed, eliminating the wear and tear on close tolerance metal parts. The centrifuge’s proven soot removal technology keeps the extra soot from EGR engines out of the oil.
