Microbiology has successfully cleaned soil and water for years. The problem is that, left to its own devices, it takes much too long. Recently, the engineered use of microbes became popular for large environmental cleanups.
This term is called “Bioremediation”. This same technology has been used by Dieselcraft Fluid Engineering to deal with bilge water and bilge contamination.
One Bilge Bug Pellet and Bio Booster comprise Dieselcraft Fluid Engineering's treatment system. Together, the Bilge Bug Pellet and Bio Booster produce extremely high populations of the hydrocarbon-eating microbes.
The microbes will eat diesel fuel, lube oil and fish by-products in the bilge.
One Bilge Bug Pellet will consume 100 gallons of hydrocarbon contamination from your bilge water.
This is NOT an emulsifier.
When the water has no sheen the oil or fuel is gone not dispersed.
Depending on the amount of contamination and if it continues to enter the bilge it may take from 2 weeks to two months to clean up the contamination.
When you add water and Bio Booster to the Bilge Bug Pellet, the microbes wake from their inert state, consume the contaminant at a frenetic pace, and reproduce rapidly.
The by-products of this process are carbon dioxide, water and trace elements of fatty acids, all of which are good for the environment. In other words, when the bugs are done the contamination is gone.
